Synopsis

Isolated on the edge of the Ukrainian Carpathians, live the Houtsoules. As they work seasonally, their songs and pagan rituals reveal the ambiguous relationship they have with their past. Armenians, gypsies and Jews, who shared with them the space of the remote mountains that served as a refuge for them all, resurface. Before the war massacred some and dispersed others, leaving the Houtsoules to fend for themselves.
