Synopsis

Sofia, 43, single and Muslim, lives in Dakar where she has long been an activist with the citizen movement Y'en a marre. She has one urgent desire: to become a mother, but without a husband – a choice that profoundly challenges the social and religious order. Between medical procedures and heated debates with her loved ones, she is waging an intimate and political struggle to assert her freedom as a woman in Senegalese society.
